Prodexpo 2016 featured the Round Table on Practical Guidelines of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance and Retail Chains for Countries which are Newcomers to the Russian Market: Opportunities and Prospects. It was organized by the Deputy Working Group of the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly on Support of Food Producers and Suppliers, and Expocentre ZAO.

Deputy of the Russian State Duma and Chairman of the Working Group Andrey Krutov delivered an opening speech.

Participants included Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Nikolay Vlasov, Assistant to the Head of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Aleksey Alekseenko, Head of the Specific Products Control Department of the Russian Federal Customs Service Irina Plotskikh, representatives of such major retailers as X5 Retail Group, Billa, and ÀÒÀÊ, and representatives of embassies of more than ten countries.

Today we see many new countries that want to import their products to Russia but their exporting companies do not know the Russian market well and do not know how to present themselves in this country. The round table was devoted to these problems as well as the current situation on the Russian consumer market, practical issues of importing foodstuffs to Russia, and specifics of working with Russian retailers.
